My name is Elilo Patton from Northeast India Nagaland. In Nagaland there are many tribes and each tribe has their own distinctive languages, cultures and features. Hundreds of years back our forefathers were headhunters. They worshiped evil spirits and fought tribe to tribe. In the village the houses were built out of bamboo and had thatched roofs. The tribes were hunters and farmers growing mainly rice and some vegetables. We also raised cattle, chickens and pigs. We plowed and cleared the land by hand. Since 2000 our people have been introduced to more modern things. Instead of kerosene we now have some electricity, roofs are now tin instead of thatch and walls may be concrete instead of bamboo.
