The Orphanage

Upon completion of my Master's Degree
at Lincoln Christian Seminary, I went back to work with my people--especially the orphans from the'hill country' in Nagaland. Currently there are no Christian orphanages in
Nagaland that accept the 'hill country' orphans. I believe God has given me this vision, and through the orphanage, I hope to see the children grow in a sound Christian faith and put a smile on on their faces with Christ's love. It is my desire
that these children will be well educated and will become great leaders for India
and the Lord’s church.In 2006 I was
given a gift of money to purchase land
for the orphanage. I was able to travel back to India and purchase property so that we could begin building. At that time we had two houses constructed— one for the supervisor and one for the
manager. We now have a new boys' dorm, a girls' dorm, a kitchen, a meeting room for the children to study. We will build a worship center in the future and funds have been donated to buy the furnishings for the center. We have also built a laundry room and soon as an upgrade to our electricity is available, we have the funds donated for a washer and dryer. An immediate need is finishing the fence around the orphanage. We have been able to purchase a school bus. We have also purchased two rice patties to provide most of our food. In our part of India we do not take out loans or get credit. Therefore, we can only build and continue with the work as the Lord provides the funds.
We now have eight children making their home at the orphanage. We will add more as we see what the cost is to run the orphanage and meet the children's needs. Here are the names of the children now at the home:

2. Benjamin Lotha - Nursery 6. Epibeni Humtsoe - 5th grade
3. Mercy Lotha - 1st grade 7. Thungbemo Kikon - 1st grade
4. Nzano Kikon - 5th grade 8. Ajanthung
